This piece had no real inspiration it was just whatever the brush did as I painted. I used an Impasto Gel to create texture and the swirls were created by flinging the paint onto the canvas. Wherever it landed is how it stayed and below is the end result! I plan on making more pieces like this in many different colors!

This piece was a lot of fun to paint. I started painting blocks of greens and yellows, intermixing them. I let that coat completely dry. Then I went over it with new paint, grey, white, green, and orange….and painted it on thick and then sprayed with water to create a drip line. I did this a few times, letting it dry in between coats, and switching the directing of the paint dripping for added effect. Hope you like!

This piece was done for a re-design adding some “Pop” against some neutral tones! I used a notebook cover for inspiration while passing through a stationary section of a store. I decided to add a contrasting color line and make the original idea more modern. I can recreate this look again if you are interested in the piece!

Mirror Makeover

For those that rent, or maybe just bought a house and can’t afford a big bathroom remodel…here’s a quick and easy tip to update your old blah mirror. Buy some molding at your local hardware store, measure it out to fit your mirror. Cut to size, paint and glue on for a stunning update! You can also do the same thing using tiles and grout. Glass tiles are super chic and can add more glam, it’s up to you!

Things needed:

1.Saw

2. Paint (spray works best/fastest)

3. Liquid Nails glue for Mirrors

4. Caulking Gun

5. Tape Measure

6. Molding

Colors of the Fall

In these pieces I used some inspiration from a site called DeviantArt.com. There were some pieces with a technique of using the flat side if the brush and “dabbing” so to speak! I used Acrylic paint on a cardboard surface and coated with a protective clear finish. I always liked the look of trees during the fall as they change color!

Most people would say that doing a remodel is expensive in itself…but most of the costs come from labor not material. You would be surprised how easy it is to learn to do some of the upgrades in your home and save a lot of $$$! There are some projects best left to the pros, so don’t start re-roofing your home just yet!! However, most local Home improvement stores offer in house training and classes for a lot of projects you might not have considered doing on your own. They will walk you through materials needed, steps, and provide an in-store example so you can learn first hand!
