Pretty much everyone and anyone has a Flat screen TV, or at least some sort of Entertaining space…but often times I’ve seen places where the entertainment space is straight out of the dorm room (You know who you are!)
I can see it now…two shelved cube unit with black plastic wheels, cords everywhere, DVDs’s all about…it’s like the death of entertainment…..don’t fret though, having a nicely put together entertainment area is easy and you don’t have to break the bank with custom built-ins (unless you’d like, they are wonderful)!
First figure out what your space needs in regards to what’s practical. Typically in a space, hiding the TV, unless wall mounted/and or Flat Panel, is usually a great start. Find a unit to store the Remotes/DVDs/XBOX, one that provides some sort of compartment…that way the DVD’s or XBOX isn’t out in the open. If you have a unit like I do…one that’s meant more for display, you can buy baskets to organize DVD’s, remotes, etc without it looking cluttered. You can often find boxes/baskets with fun colored cloth inside that you can use to coordinate with your rooms color pallet! Try looking at Ross or TJ MAX for these…Target and other Home Bedding stores carry these. (Pictures found in Organize It Album)
One key thing to remember, is to measure your space, b/c even if that Armoire is gorgeous you don’t want it to overtake the room. Entertainment units can be creative, and you can use pieces to build them, rather than going traditional.
